American voters and families have growing concerns about the impacts of AI on kids, workers, consumers, and the American economy. Public First is working to put those concerns front and center in Congress, countering Big Tech’s unprecedented election spending and supporting candidates who put American voters first.
Who we are
Public First is a bipartisan super PAC that supports candidates committed to defending the public interest against those who aim to buy their way out of sensible AI regulation. We focus on electing candidates who champion responsible tech policies that reduce harm and protect against AI’s worst risks.
Over the past year, Big Tech has announced it will spend hundreds of millions of dollars to influence our elections, distorting the debate in Congress over how to address AI’s harms. Public First will act as a counterforce to Big Tech’s election spending spree, refocusing the conversation on how to protect kids online, defend workers from untested automation tools, and ensure liability when AI systems cause harm.
Public First is led by former Congressmen Brad Carson (D-OK) and Chris Stewart (R-UT).
